OC Golf and Beach Properties
Orange County California Golf and Beach PropertiesWhat is New??
Well….the election is over. I pray that he will do what is “BEST for our country” and make the best choices!
I for one am sooooooo glad it is over. I was getting very sick of hearing all the political ads (propaganda) on radio and TV. I have to say…I was very very disappointed in the press and how they handeled this election. But I should have expected it since we have been experiencing the same thing with the Real Estate Market.
Just a reminder…..you can not believe everything you read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is common knowledge that they have to sell papers and they have to get people to watch their station, so they will write or say “whatever” they need to to get your attention. We can’t blame them 100 % because we “as a society” seem to thrive on others success and FAILURE. AND…..we buy the papers and watch their news shows and un-reality “reality shows”.
OK…..the good news is …..golf is still alive and well ….and…..the best way to relieve your STRESS and have FUN doing it! In California, this is a wonderful time of year for golf. The courses have been repaired and airiated and they are ready for you.
Speaking of golf courses….there are some really good buys in the OC on the golf course. Call me so we can talk!
Coming soon…..new golf course properties!!

A Great home in Newport Beach Bluffs
I usually try to keep you updated on the golf and Beach Properties in Newport Beach Area. Today I’d like to tell you about a great listing in Newport Beach that doesn’t have a view (except for small greenbelt) but it also doesn’t cost millions of dollars. This one is close to a great private Tennis Club and walking distance to the Back Bay and the biking/hiking trails. It is 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths with a GREAT wrap around patio to enjoy our beautiful “year round” weather. It has been upgraded with thermo-pane doors and windows, granite counters in the kitchen, recessed lighting, crown moulding, new carpet and paint. It sits at the end of the cul-de-sac and it light and bright! And….what is best….it is listed at $825,000.
It is a great opportunity to own a home in Newport Beach. Especially for those of you that are dying from the heat in Palm Springs/Desert, Las Vegas, Phoenix etc. Write or call and I’ll take you to look at it!

Let’s talk Tennis!!
If you like tennis and live in Orange County, Ca…..this is a great event! This weekend is the finals of the Adoption Guild Tennis Tournament held at the Newport Beach Tennis Club on Eastbluff. The first rounds were played at area Clubs last weekend and Sat. night we had a great party for the Players with great food from participating Restraunts along with a great band….The Blue’s Racquet. Fun was had by ALL!! This is an annual charity tournament that draws a great group of players and raises money for Holy Family Services. Holy Family Services is celebrating 60 years of Adoption and Foster care placement. Please see www.adoptionguild.org for more information. The play offs will have some great open players and if you donate clothes or food for the children, you can get in free. Otherwise the cost is very nominal! Another great feature is the Silent Auction which will be held Sat. and Sunday from 10:00 to 3:00. Once again we have some great auction items!!

Players Championship
Sorry to be so late on this. My intentions were good. I just let work get in the way. Amazing how that happens!!
I was very lucky this year to be able to go to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla and attend the Players Championship the last 3 days! Wow!! What a “first class” event! They always get a great field for this Tournament and we got to see almost all of the players upclose and personal. Watching them drive off the tee’s is amazing. You forget how long they hit….the ball just sails through the air. The course was in beautiful shape and the greens (Florida had been very dry up until last week) were like lightening! Seemed to give most of the players some challenges.
The weather was very warm (especially if you are used to living in Newport Beach) in the 90’s with very little air moving in many places. A little bit of humidity too
#17 is one of my favorite holes and one of the most difficult. It is ranked as on the most beautiful finishing holes on the tour.
The new (last couple years) Club House is so beautiful and really adds to the over all beauty of the event. They did have a tent set up with a hole like # 17 and if you got it in the hole you won and IPOD touch. OK…..so, I need some practice. Even the young kids were doing better. Better luck next time, Sue!!
If you ever have the opportunity to go to this Tournament….I highly recommend it. There is a Marriott right there and lots of beautiful golf course and beaches. And homes are really on sale!
What a great Masters!!
The Masters truly is a wonderful Tournament. And how exciting to have a 3 way playoff. Many of us wish Tiger had been in the playoff, but they were all deserving. And I know Angel was one happy man at the end of the day and 2 extra holes.
Did you see how beautiful the course looked? The green green grass and the beautiful flowers made for a pretty site. On Wed. for the Par 3 contest, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player were in the same 3 some. Wouldn’t that be somethig to see? My father used to go to the Master’s every year and come back with some great stories.
Speaking of homes with golf course views (tricky how I led into that, wasn’t it??) I saw a beautiful custom home today that overlooks Shady Canyon golf course and the hills and valleys in Irvine, Ca. The home, according to the builder, is 12,000 square feet (and I believe it) and the lot is 25,266. 4 bedrooms and 7 baths. All bedrooms are suites with heated floors in the bathrooms. The pool is beautiful and wraps around the side of the house. It has a spa and a waterfall and beautiful rock formations. It looks like it should be in a magazine. Actually…..the entire home does!
And…..all for the amazing price of $10,850,000.
Stay tuned for more exciting golf and beach properties coming soon. Have a Great Day, Sue
A Beautiful Day in Southern California!!
What a great day to be living at the Beach or on the Golf Course!! I just came back from a wonderful rollerblade at the beach and am feeling very “energized”!
If you have been sitting on the fence waiting to buy….it is time to “hop off” and take advantage of the deals that are out there. I just received and email from a Countrywide rep and they have a 15 yr. conforming fixed rate loan at 4.395% and the 30 yr. conforming is 4.625%. That is amazing. Rates haven’t been that low since the 1940’s.
One of the highlights of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2009 is the first time Home Buyer Tax Credit. There is up to $8,000 tax credit for homestead buyers who buy between Jan. 1,09 and Dec. 1, 09. If you haven’t purchased a home in three years, you also may be eligible for this credit. The best part is….the credit doesn’t have to be repaid, and is taken as a deduction at tax time.
Here is a perfect golf course property to use that tax credit toward. Live in Newport Beach on a golf course for $699,000. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths with views from the living room, dining room and Master bedroom. 2 car garage, AC and association pool and tennis courts. Let’s make a Deal!!!
Another great property I want to tell you about has a little water view from the master bedroom and the deck. It is in a small gated comunity with a pool that practically sits on the Bay. Walking distance to Balboa Island, a ferry ride to the Beach and very close to Fashion Island. Wow!!
It is 2 bedrooms, 2 baths with one up and one down. The master suite is the entire upstairs. Very nice closet with lots of “built ins” . The kitchen has been upgraded and so have the baths. 2 car garage for extra storage or your golf cart and ample guest parking. 2 years ago it was priced at $1,595,000. Now..it is priced just over a million. What a “steal”
Have a GREAT Day!!!!
More beach and golf properties coming soon!
Toshiba Classic
Hi Golfing Fans!!
This is a very FUN time of the year in Newport Beach! It is the 15th Annual Toshiba Classic. The week when all the best Senior Pros come to play the pristine Newport Beach Country Club Course. Some of the great players here this week are “Defending Champ” Bernard Langer (also reigning Player of the Year), Legands ….Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin (2 time Toshiba Classic winner), Jay Haas (2007 Champion) and “Player of the Year Canidates” Fred Funk and John Cook.
What is great about this Tournament is the players are more layed back (even though still competitive) and off the course more friendly. The tickets are inexpensive …$25 general admission, and it is a great way to “let go of stress”, be outdoors, be around “golf lovers” and get some exercise!!
Play starts Friday AM and ends with the Championship Trophy awards on the 18th green Sunday afternoon.
