What is New??
I’m sorry this keeps showing up as the latest post. I will figure out how to change that soon 🙂
Well….the election is over. I pray that he will do what is “BEST for our country” and make the best choices!
I for one am sooooooo glad it is over. I was getting very sick of hearing all the political ads (propaganda) on radio and TV. I have to say…I was very very disappointed in the press and how they handeled this election. But I should have expected it since we have been experiencing the same thing with the Real Estate Market.
Just a reminder…..you can not believe everything you read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is common knowledge that they have to sell papers and they have to get people to watch their station, so they will write or say “whatever” they need to to get your attention. We can’t blame them 100 % because we “as a society” seem to thrive on others success and FAILURE. AND…..we buy the papers and watch their news shows and un-reality “reality shows”.
OK…..the good news is …..golf is still alive and well ….and…..the best way to relieve your STRESS and have FUN doing it! In California, this is a wonderful time of year for golf. The courses have been repaired and airiated and they are ready for you.
Speaking of golf courses….there are some really good buys in the OC on the golf course. Call me so we can talk!
Coming soon…..new golf course properties!!
A Great time for Golf in “The OC”
It is October and it is a great time for golf in Orange County. A little rain to “green things” up. and the courses aren’t as “crazy” as they are in the summer. The last couple courses I have played: Coto de Casa (a litttle warm but a FUN day), Mesa Linda in Costa Mesa. A good little course with some really steep traps. Unfortunately…..I did get more practice than I wanted. But, my Dad would have been proud. He taught me well when it comes to traps!! Wish I had picked his brain more about all the great shots he was a master of. Has that ever happened to you? A great lesson to remind us to listen and take notes when you are around the older generation. They have so much knowledge to offer. Be more opened to new ideas and not be stubborn. Ha Ha, I wonder if I am writing this for myself 🙂 OK….back to golf! Oh yes.and next week playing Ben Browns ( a great 9 hole course set in the hills of Laguna Beach) and then hopefully Newport Beach Country Club.
There are still some great buys on homes on the golf course in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, San Clemente, Rancho Margarita, Coto de Casa, Ladera Beach and all through San Diego and Palm Springs and Palm Desert. Interest rates are still amazing and there are deals out there. If I can do anything to help…..let me know! Thanks, Sue 🙂
Day After Super Bowl!!
Well, it is the day after Super Bowl and …..what a good game!! Well, I guess it was if you wanted the Saints to win! I did because they deserved it after ALL these years. However I am a Peyton Manning fan also. Now….it is time for “football withdrawal”(:
Did you get out to Riveria to watch the golf last week…..what didn’t get rained on??? I was sorry I couldn’t get up there but I did get to spend a day at Torrey Pines a couple weeks ago. It was an absolutely perfect day… sunshine, warm and a light breeze off the ocean. WOW! And the course looked awesome!
Don’t forget the Winter Olympics opening ceremony on Friday and I’ll be back with Newport Beach real estate updates soon! Have a great day!!
Historic Homes, Balboa Island!
I thought you might be interested in this little bit of Balboa Island Trivia. The Island is comprised of 3 Man Made Islands, Balboa Island, Little Island and Collins Island. In a recent post…..I told you about a home for sale on Collins Island.
Prior to 1906, the Island was just a sand spit. Thanks to the insight of developer William S. Collins, we now have Balboa Island. He began dredging the channel around Snipe Island, depositing sand onto the tidelands……resulting in Balboa Island!
In 1929 the Island boasted 100 residents. Today it claims over 3,000 residents. There are currently 101 Historic Homes on the Island. Each bronze plaque hoors a home that has been on the Island at least 60 years. Stop by our Balboa Island Museum and Historical Society. Close to the Ferry and Pilates Bt The Sea!! Wed. and Sat. 10am – 2 pm 949 675-3952
Have you ever been to the Island? If so, please share your positive experiences 🙂
I’ll give you more “B.I. trivia” in aother Blog. I did want to tell you that
A Great home in Newport Beach Bluffs
I usually try to keep you updated on the golf and Beach Properties in Newport Beach Area. Today I’d like to tell you about a great listing in Newport Beach that doesn’t have a view (except for small greenbelt) but it also doesn’t cost millions of dollars. This one is close to a great private Tennis Club and walking distance to the Back Bay and the biking/hiking trails. It is 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths with a GREAT wrap around patio to enjoy our beautiful “year round” weather. It has been upgraded with thermo-pane doors and windows, granite counters in the kitchen, recessed lighting, crown moulding, new carpet and paint. It sits at the end of the cul-de-sac and it light and bright! And….what is best….it is listed at $825,000.
It is a great opportunity to own a home in Newport Beach. Especially for those of you that are dying from the heat in Palm Springs/Desert, Las Vegas, Phoenix etc. Write or call and I’ll take you to look at it!
Have a great evening, Sue

Let’s talk Tennis!!
If you like tennis and live in Orange County, Ca…..this is a great event! This weekend is the finals of the Adoption Guild Tennis Tournament held at the Newport Beach Tennis Club on Eastbluff. The first rounds were played at area Clubs last weekend and Sat. night we had a great party for the Players with great food from participating Restraunts along with a great band….The Blue’s Racquet. Fun was had by ALL!! This is an annual charity tournament that draws a great group of players and raises money for Holy Family Services. Holy Family Services is celebrating 60 years of Adoption and Foster care placement. Please see www.adoptionguild.org for more information. The play offs will have some great open players and if you donate clothes or food for the children, you can get in free. Otherwise the cost is very nominal! Players Championship
Sorry to be so late on this. My intentions were good. I just let work get in the way. Amazing how that happens!!
I was very lucky this year to be able to go to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla and attend the Players Championship the last 3 days! Wow!! What a “first class” event! They always get a great field for this Tournament and we got to see almost all of the players upclose and personal. Watching them drive off the tee’s is amazing. You forget how long they hit….the ball just sails through the air. The course was in beautiful shape and the greens (Florida had been very dry up until last week) were like lightening! Seemed to give most of the players some challenges.
The weather was very warm (especially if you are used to living in Newport Beach) in the 90’s with very little air moving in many places. A little bit of humidity too 🙂 #17 is one of my favorite holes and one of the most difficult. It is ranked as on the most beautiful finishing holes on the tour.
The new (last couple years) Club House is so beautiful and really adds to the over all beauty of the event. They did have a tent set up with a hole like # 17 and if you got it in the hole you won and IPOD touch. OK…..so, I need some practice. Even the young kids were doing better. Better luck next time, Sue!!
If you ever have the opportunity to go to this Tournament….I highly recommend it. There is a Marriott right there and lots of beautiful golf course and beaches. And homes are really on sale!
